Pork that builds soil health
Our pork is raised with soil health in mind! Every week our pig pens are cleaned out and the manure is added to a compost pile that sits for a year breaking down their manure. The compost is then added to our fields after a year and makes our grasses much more green and lush for our cows and goats to graze. Each pen cleaned out leads to another load of manure that builds our soil ecology.
Pork that keeps money in our local economy.
Each hog eats through about 650lbs of feed while on our farm. Over the course of raising all our hogs this adds up to a lot of feed, meaning a lot of money spent on feed every year. Our hogs are fed grains that are grown and milled locally keeping money flowing in our local economy. Rather than shipping in organic feed made in large batches out of state from chain stores, we focus on spending our money at small local elevators to help our local economy thrive.
